Modernise your home with Artex back to flat
Making your artexed walls and ceilings flat and smooth is a great option for modernising your home and giving it a new feel.
1. Cover the floor and any items that could not be removed from the room in a protective plastic and lay dust sheets on top.
2. Prepare ceiling and walls to a standard suitable for skimming.
3. Cover any cracks with a reinforcing scrim tape to prevent them coming through again.
4. Pin angle-bead/stop-bead to corners and edges
5. Roll Unibond PVA onto all surfaces.
6. Apply 2 coats of Multi Finish plaster to a fine trowel finish ready for painting.
7. Remove all debris and to clean and tidy the working area.
How we do it...
There are many reasons why you may want to overboard your ceiling, these reasons can include:
If your ceiling is lath and plaster and has cracks in it.
if your ceiling is very wavy
if you have had water damage
If the current ceiling wont adhere to Plaster

2. Locate the joists in the ceiling.
3. Screw up plasterboard
4. Cover all joins in the board with a reinforcing scrim tape to prevent cracks.
5. Apply 2 coats of Multi Finish plaster to a fine trowel finish ready for painting.
6. Remove all debris and to clean and tidy the working area.
